It is, admittedly, something of a stretch to describe the USA as "unsung". Here, after all, is one of the most famous - if not the most famous - countries on the planet. Stars and stripes. Skyscrapers and superbowls. Land of the free and the home of the brave, and all that. In fact, if you want to quibble, America most definitely counts as sung - if you trawl the musical lexicon from New York, New York to California Dreamin' via Highway 61 Revisited, (Is This The Way To) Amarillo and even Folsom Prison Blues.
But then, even the most celebrated destinations still have their hidden corners. And that will prove to be the case with the US in 2019.
While New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco et al will continue to shine brightly, there are other places - less known, yet enormously intriguing in their own rights - which, for various reasons, will be just as deserving of tourist attention in the upcoming 12 months.
But then, even the most celebrated destinations still have their hidden corners. And that will prove to be the case with the US in 2019.
